Where the Flamingos Come to Roost

I have to say that I love my job because sometimes I can get to do stuff like this.  In January,  I was invited to view the Lilly Pulitzer items for Target. There were a lot of pieces that I loved and was hoping the majority of the collection will extend into plus sizes.  When I went to that event, there wasn't a lot of information...just the clothing.
There were some pieces in plus sizes, but a lot of the sample sizes were in the straight sizes. This can be scary as a plus size person in fashion because you won't know what will be sized up to plus. Well, since I'm in the know of what will be offered in plus, let me just say that it's a lot, and it's really good.  Like so good.  I got a lot of different pieces besides what is shown here and everything is just adorable.  My assistant (yes, I feel cool and blessed to now say I have an assistant) and I were drooling! The box came in when she was with me, and she was sworn to secrecy on what she had seen.

The plus size pieces are available on April 19th online only.  My favorite pieces are the yellow robe/coverup, the flamingo swimsuit, the green/white one piece (isn't picture and was sent in a 14, so there was no way this body was getting into it), and the blue jumper (not pictured because it was too tight, but will size up).  I got to see most of the swimsuits, and they were all gorgeous.  See all the pieces here.

Sizing: With a partnership like this, I was given sample sizes for the clothing. This means I didn't necessarily get the size I would normally buy, but this gave me a chance to evaluate the sizing and fit for other body types. I will be purchasing some of these pieces myself because I was given sample sizes and would have picked different sizes for optimal fit. The bra cups are generous.  This swim top is a size 20.  I would probably size down to the 16 or 18 for myself. I am a 40D (small D). These swim tops would work great for larger busted ladies. The swim bottoms are a size 22. I would normally do a 24 and will size up for a little more length although they fit pretty good in the butt. The pants are pretty true to size but don't have any stretch, so note that.  I will probably purchase in one size larger. I have on a size 24. I got to try on the jumpsuits; those are pretty true to size and extremely adorable.  The maxi dress had stretch and was super comfy.  I wore it in Santa Cruz and got a lot of compliments.
